Note that you must have editor or sysops privileges to be able to create and edit articles. Only someone with sysops privileges can edit the landing pages (pages listed in the menu).

Creating a New Article

To create a new article, enter this stream of text into your browser's URL:

http://climatenavigator.org/wiki/Name_Of_Article

You will be taken to a page indicating that this article doesn't yet exist. Clicking the "edit this page" link will bring you to a window to create the new page and add your content.

Guidelines for Naming Articles

Note that variations on capitalization go to different pages: "Energy Efficiency" is different from "Energy efficiency." (titles entered with no capitalization will automatically capitalize the first letter of the first word). To keep content consistent and accessible, the following guidelines are encouraged:

  • Capitalize the first, and only the first letter of your title: e.g. "Energy efficiency in industry".
    • Exception: Proper nouns and abbreviations should be capitalized: e.g. "Energy policy in the United States" or "Energy policy in the US"
  • It is a good idea to create redirects for variations in capitalization: e.g. "Energy Efficiency" should redirect to "Energy efficiency"

General Formatting

See Starting a New Page, Formatting, and Links on the MediaWiki site for general help with MediaWiki formatting.

These pages will tell you how to create a new article, style your text, and add links to your article on almost any wiki site.
